Above are works made by the artist to show his developing fascination with language. Conversation, interaction and dialogue are born out across these paintings and drawings. Particular importance is placed upon the meeting of paint in multiple areas of shape, colour and mark. The artist's use of line changed considerably during these works, from a singularly descriptive deployment to a more active, multifaceted content.
A stream of drawings made in his final year at The Glasgow School of Art. Whilst preparing for the 2010 Degree Show the artist built descriptive content in pencil and oil upon sheets of paper prepared with turpentine.
